Windscreen Chip & Crack Repair, Sunshine Coast

Caught it early? A professional resin repair stops a chip or crack spreading, restores strength and is often a fraction of the cost of replacement — bullseyes, stars, horseshoes and craters.

◢ Catch it early

Repair it early, keep your factory glass

Caught a stone on the Bruce Highway? A small chip is almost always repairable — and a repair is faster, cheaper and keeps your original factory glass. The trick is acting before temperature changes and road vibration turn a 5-cent chip into a windscreen-wide crack.

We repair the common damage types by injecting a clear resin that bonds the glass back together, restores strength and stops the damage spreading. Done well, the repair is barely visible and structurally sound.

Repairs are quick — usually well under an hour — and we come to you. Parked at the office in Maroochydore, at home in Buderim or at the beach car park in Mooloolaba, our mobile van carries everything needed to sort it on the spot, so a chip never has to cost you a day off the road.

◢ Which one have you got?

The five breaks we repair every week

Most stone damage falls into one of these. Caught early and out of your eyeline, all but the worst cracks are usually a quick resin fix. Read the full guide →

Bullseye

A clean dark circle where a stone hit square-on — one of the most repairable breaks.

Star break

A central chip with short cracks radiating out like a star. Repairable if the legs are short.

Horseshoe

A partial, U-shaped ring of damage — half a bullseye. Usually a straightforward resin fix.

Crater / chip

A pit where a piece of the outer glass has flaked away. Repairable when small and shallow.

Crack

A line that runs across the glass. Short, fresh cracks can be repaired; long or edge cracks can't.

◢ The rule of thumb

Damage inside the driver's critical vision area can usually be repaired up to about 25 mm; outside that zone the limit is roughly 100 mm. Edge cracks and anything in your direct eyeline are the common reasons a repair becomes a replacement. Not sure which you've got? Send a photo — we'll tell you straight, free.

How a chip repair works

  1. 01

    Assess

We check the size, type and location — chips under a coin and out of your direct line of sight are ideal.

  2. 02

    Clean & vacuum

Moisture and debris drawn out of the break so the resin can bond cleanly.

  3. 03

    Inject resin

Optical resin injected under pressure and cured hard with UV light.

  4. 04

    Polish

Surface levelled and polished — strength restored, spread stopped.

A repair restores strength and stops the spread, but it won't make a chip vanish completely — and long or edge cracks are past saving. If the damage is in the driver's eyeline or already running across the glass, we'll tell you honestly that replacement is the safer call.

(FAQ) — Good to know

Questions, answered

Still not sure? Call us — we'll talk it through, no pressure.

01 Do you fit quality glass?

Yes. We fit OEM glass (identical to what left the factory) or quality OEE glass — equivalent aftermarket made to the same Australian Standard, AS/NZS 2080. Both are safe and fully warranted, and we'll talk you through which suits your car and budget.

02 Can you do it same day?

Often, yes — same-day service is possible depending on glass availability and your location. Where we can't get to you the same day, we'll usually have you sorted the next day.

03 Do you come to me, or do I come to you?

Both. Our mobile fleet covers the Sunshine Coast metro area — we'll come to your home or office for most repairs and replacements. You're also welcome at our Buderim workshop at Shed 4, 42 Kayleigh Drive.

04 Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. Every auto-glass installation we perform is backed by a nationwide guarantee on our workmanship.
